Be Referred to a Specialist Outpatient Clinic (SOC)

Should you require a referral for a subsidised consult, the polyclinic doctor will provide you with a referral to the National University Health System, or NUHS. The NUHS Contact Centre will send you an SMS with the fastest available appointment slot at one of the NUHS Specialist Outpatient Clinics (SOCs) at Alexandra Hospital (AH), National University Hospital (NUH), Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH), or Jurong Medical Centre (JMC).

This will help ensure that you are able to see a specialist at the earliest possible time.

You will receive an SMS within five working days. If you wish to make changes to the appointment, please call 6908 2222 and select the option for hospital referrals.

Yes, please let your doctor know. We will indicate it in the system and the NUHS Contact Centre colleagues will take note of your preference when scheduling your appointment, provided the specialty you are referred to is available at the hospital you prefer. Do also note that the waiting time for the appointment may be longer than if the referral is made to NUHS.

Please inform your doctor during the consultation so that he/she can indicate it on the referral letter. The hospital staff will then contact you within the time frame indicated on your hospital information sheet.
